Director of Safety and Compliance - Bakersfield Posted 12/3/09

The purpose of this position is to control daily work of Shop Foreman and Mechanic. Implement new safety processes and procedures as well as preventative maintenance system(s). Ensure that driver compliance information is timely, accurate and in order for management to make informed decisions in order to reach company objectives.


Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsible for supervising five staff members


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Manages and motivates Shop Foremen, and mechanics with daily supervision to include training, discipline, scheduling, inspection and visually monitoring performance to ensure adherence to all safety and productivity standards through preventative maintenance systems.
·         Actively participate with Terminal Manager and Human Resources Manager in the driver hiring process.
Ensure adherence to all safety policies and procedures as Chairman of the NTL Safety Committee. Including monthly safety meetings.
·         Coordinate all new hire Drivers training with the Terminal Manager, Dispatchers and Driver Trainers to insure timely completion of training. Insure that the Drivers Training Manual is kept current and up to date.
·         Coordinate with refinery personal to insure that all NTL drivers have received training and loading cards, adhering to all refinery policies.
·         Maintain all NTL truck files, insuring that licenses, insurance cards and vapor certificates are accurate and up to date.
·         Process all DMV renewals and title changes.
·         Ensures that company vehicle maintenance records are processed and filed according to DOT requirements.
·         Prepare applications for all annual licenses and permit renewals required to operate NTL on a daily basis.
·         Investigate all accidents and incidents pertaining to NTL employees and/or company vehicles. Coordinate all insurance claims.
·         Maintain company vehicle equipment list.
·         Coordinate personnel and vehicles for bi-annual CHP BIT Inspection.
·         Implement new processes.


Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
·         10 years experience in Hazmat Transportation
·         Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

e-mail.

Dispatcher - Bakersfield Posted 12/3/09

The purpose of this position is to dispatch drivers and trucks for loading and delivery of petroleum and petroleum related products in a safe efficient manner exceeding customer expectations.


Essential Functions:
·         Receive customer orders via telephone, fax or Telepoint
·         Utilizing customer orders, prepare daily driver loading and delivery schedules, ensuring that drivers do not work more hours per day than allowed by law
·         Communicate with drivers via cell phone or Telepoint/CADEC to resolve any problems that occur during the daily delivery of customer orders
·         Provide customers with up to date delivery schedules, advising customers if original requested delivery schedule can not be met and provide an acceptable alternate delivery schedule
·         Determine load quantities for specified customers by tracking daily inventories, utilizing fax and/or computer programs
·         Attend daily dispatch meeting(s), relating to others in the department any problem areas that may occur during the off duty hours
·         Be available to work varied shifts and off duty on call hours
·         Data entry of daily driver's logs and processing related computer reports

·         Must have experience in an environment that required being responsible for at least 10 to 15 trucks
·         Must be willing to work all shifts and be flexible with schedule

Convenience Store Manager

Summary:
 
To manage, direct and supervise the daily operations of a Company station; to provide pleasant and courteous service to customers according to Company goals, policies and procedures; to provide and supervise the training of all site personnel; and to enforce security measures designed to prevent loss of Company assets through theft, shortages or inventory shrinkage. Employees in this classification receive general supervision within framework of standard policies and procedures. This job class is responsible for directing the day-to-day operating activities of the assigned station in accordance with Company profitability, service and personnel standards. Retailing activities may be part of assigned unit operations. This job class requires a high degree of initiative and attention to ability to project the desired Company image of courteous, friendly service to customers. Employees in this job class will follow and enforce job descriptions of cashiers and assistant managers.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Directs daily operating activities of assigned 24 hours/7 days per week station and Quick Serv Restaurant (QSR), implementing merchandising and service programs designed by management.
  • Greet customers and operates a cash register or computer console in the processing and service programs designed by management.
  • Interviews, hires, disciplines and terminates unit personnel following established Company policies; maintains employee records and timecards as required.
  • Plan, schedules, supervises and evaluates the work of subordinate unit personnel.
  • Inventories stock, gasoline oil and cash levels daily; verifies records completed by subordinate unit personnel for accuracy.
  • Directs and supervises retailing operations at assigned station.
  • Directs and supervises food service operations at assigned station.
  • Prepares a variety of logs, worksheets and reports, such as operations reports, daily sales report and labor time sheets.
  • Reviews profit/loss statements for assigned unit, and assists in making recommendations to increase profit margins.
  • Forwards report data to corporate office by mail or electronic transmission.
  • Make bank deposits, verifies amounts, and supervises cash pick-up by armored car service.
  • Enforces security controls established by the Company regarding theft, shortages and inventory shrinkage.
  • Inspects inside and outside appearance of unit daily, checking gutters, paved areas, lighting, floors, display, etc; performs or assigns cleaning and light maintenance tasks in order to maintain an attractive, functional unit.
  • Monitors the operation of unit equipment for proper functioning; performs minor or routine repairs/adjustments as needed.
  • Received vendor; order stock, supplies and equipment of the unit; reviews invoice, and assists in stocking when necessary.
  • Reports repair needs to appropriate authority; reviews maintenance bills and authorizes payment.
  • Conducts monthly store/station staff meeting for the purpose of resolving problems and/or communicating corporate issues.
  • Receives customer complaints; makes refunds, voids, or otherwise resolves as necessary.
  • Monitors budget and assists in formulating unit budget and sales goals.
  • Duties also include any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Enforce all job duties for cashiers, assistant manager, bookkeepers and maintenance staff.
  • Complete shift reports daily.
  • Ensure accurate and timely training of all new staff members.
  • Follow and ensure following of all policies and procedures as outlined in handbooks, manuals and written correspondence.
  • Ensure that the station is maintained and properly cleaned at all times.
  • Interact with vendors or ordering, promotions and deliveries.
  • Be a positive role model.
  • Deal with angry customers and try to diffuse the situation.
  • Work with bookkeeper on resolving cashier errors.
  • Must be willing to commute on a daily basis and/or relocate to Frazier Park or Valencia.
  • Must be willing to work a minimum of 50 hours per week.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening
